Getting Impatient..how about you?

So I went to the doctor yesterday to see if I've progressed anymore compared to last week (I had gained 1 lb, my belly was 37 and I was dilated to 1). They told me that I am now dilated to 1 1/2 - 2 cm's and I am 50% effaced. And I'm a little swollen (thats the bad news lol).  She told me that it won't be long until i go into labor. That I just need try and take it easy and make past Friday. I will be 37 weeks Friday. 

 At this point I'm out of questions of whats going on and what to expect. I just want to know WHEN!!!!!!!! I'm tired of being pregnant. I want little man to hurry up and get here lol 

Any of you ladies feeling the same way?

    Absolutely!  As much as I want him to wait until he's ready to come out, I'm so incredibly tired of being pregnant I keep hoping every little pain or twinge is the beginning of labor.

    I'm really surprised your doctor would set you up for disappointment like that, especially when you're still so far from your due date.  She has no way of knowing when you'll go into labor and it could easily be another 4-5 weeks.

    I went on bed rest at 35 weeks with DD#1 because I was dilating early, and I had to be induced at 39 weeks at 3 cm dialated and fully effaced, and my water broke on its own that day. I never progressed. Every week I would go in and be further along, and then nothing happened. At one point, I was going in twice a week. My OB kept saying I was going into labor in the next couple of days, and every time she was wrong. I feel your pain, but you may not go into labor until 39-40 weeks, so just be prepared for the extra pregnancy time.

    Most Definitely!!! I want to wear normal clothes again! I want to be skinny again! I want to feel sexy again! And of course,  I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET MY BABY BOY!! I wanna hold him and kiss and cuddle him. I can't wait for his big brother to meet him... I'm just getting impatient.

    Yes!!!! I'm done being pregnant too, I want to meet my baby! I'm tired of people asking me how I'm doing and saying "oh its soon!" "did you have the baby yet?". I'm so READY!! These past few days I feel like something has been changing in my body and that maybe I'm getting ready but I don't see my doctor until tomorrow so I don't know if its any real changes. 

    I've been trying to do something nice each day that maybe I won't be able to do once baby is here, to help pass the time. Today I got my hair cut and am going for dinner with girlfriends. Maybe just try to have some 'me time' and it will make things move along :)

    Yes! I'm so ready to get this show on the road. I can't get any sleep at night from being uncomfortable and aging to pee. I'm ready to meet him already!

    Yep. I'm there. But I know I've got a LONG way to go. They told me "any day" with DS1 at 36 weeks. He arrived at 40w, 6d. I thought I was going to go crazy. I'm trying to prep my self this time for a late baby, so either way I won't be disappointed, but dang, this is rough. And I've still got soooooo long to go. But it's good, right? Grandmas always say, "they're easier to care for on the inside, than on the outside". Doesn't make carrying around a bowling ball any easier though.

    Yes! And I'm 4(almost 5) days OVERdue!!!!! Time to get out little guy!!!

    I'm starting to get antsy too. And I'm with you on being out of questions and everything for the doctor. I'm actually thinking of calling and delaying my appointment scheduled later this week. Dilation and effacement can change so quickly and so really don't tell me much and I have to pay good money to take off work, drive 45 minutes, wait around and then have a quick check. I love my midwife, but I can wait a few more days to see her. And if labor starts before then, great! I'll see her at the hospital!

    Yea, that's kinda my issue. The previous week I was told I would go into labor within the following 2 weeks. Then I went this past monday and she said It won't be too long.     But you're right. She has no way of telling. But I guess I'm just in the waiting game. I still have 3 weeks and 2 day until my due date.

    I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. As bad as I want him to get here soon. I just figured it would be a bit sooner and more less easier since this is my 2nd child. but i guess not always.

    I understand where you're coming from on that one. It's a bit frustrating. But it wont hurt to wait lol

    Dear Lord, do i EVER know how you feel! I'm 39 weeks & 5 days and at my appt last week I was still closed & high...the only positive thing the doc has to say was that I was 'soft'. I am so far beyond impatient that I am crabby and emotional! I just want to know that my body is PROGRESSING!

    And yeah....couldn't agree more on the 'tired of being pregnant'. I'm so ready to wear NON-maternity clothes, SHOP for non-maternity clothes, workout normally again, and ...oh yeah.....most of all....MEET MY BABY BOY!

     

    Good luck to all of you other impatient mom's.....they will be here before we know it! :)
