(So I refuse to tell y'all how amazingly wonderfully spectacularly that PT is going because I don't want to jinx it......it must be God's grace for the fact that I've got twins coming soon!)
On to my question.....when did you start leaving the house with your child wearing underwear? Was there a certain amount of time that had passed without them having an accident? What was your criteria?
Thanks!
Re: potty training question-wearing undies in public
B!tch.
Just kidding. Also hoping not to jinx it, but I think we've turned a corner. We had two poops and one "wet" in the potty yesterday and already one wet today! We're not there yet, but we are lucky to now know that V has EXCELLENT control so when the times comes, I don't think I'll be too nervous about undies in public. BUT - I bought some Gerber training pants from Amazon (of course) that are just feel and look just like undies. I think when we do public we'll start with those so at least if there is an accident it won't be as big of a mess.

Once we started with undies we didn't go back. So that means we left the house pretty much right after. I say that lightly though because we pretty much didn't take L anywhere the first 1.5 weeks after he was PT. We stayed close to home on the weekends (at home and quick trips to the park). Then he was at school the rest of the week.
He's actually done just fine with it and there have been no accidents in public yet (knock on wood). I usually have him use the potty before we leave to go anywhere and when we get to our destination I immediately take him to the potty and if we're there for about 45 min or so I always have him try to go again before we leave. And I always ask him every 20-ish minutes or so while we're out and about if he needs to go potty or tell him to "tell mommy if you have to go potty."
