Is it normal to be aware of your own heart beat? There are times when I'm sitting or laying down and I can feel it beating if I'm not concentrating on anything else. I just went to the doctor yesterday and my blood pressure was fine. It's not racing or anything, just beating normally. Anyone else experience this?

Re: Feeling your own heartbeat?
Glad somebody asked this because last night was the first time this happened to me. I actually laid in bed and was feeling my pulse to make sure it wasn't racing or anything and it wasn't.
So weird!
I do, practically all the time, and it's annoying! lol.
Its due to all the blood flowing through your expanded veins. When I lay down at night i hear it as well.
I only seem to be able to feel mine when my bp goes up.. I typically have normal bp reads, but sometimes when I get too stressed, I feel it.
