1st Trimester

due date mix up?

my last period was november 13, so if i went off of my last period i would be 11 weeks today. I have a regular cycle and what not, due to being on birth control (or i should say, i was). i went and had an ultrasound done, because my november period was weird. when i got the ultrasound (i thought i was 8 weeks) she told me six weeks. it didn't make sense, cuz basically she was saying at 6 weeks i ovulated 4 days before my period, and i had pregnancy symptoms before implantation? Is it possible to ovulate 4 days before my period? If i did ovulate then, no way i would of missed my december period then, which i did. I am saying I think i am actually 11 weeks, not 9. What do you ladies think?

  • Do you mean 4 days before you expected to get your December period? If so, then yes, it is entirely possible that you Oed later than usual and your December period would have been late had you not conceived. The measurements are more accurate than going by LMP. If you were actually 11 weeks and measuring at 6, that would be very bad news, and I just don't think that's the case.

After 22 cycles and 4 failed IUIs, Serafina joined our family through IVF/ICSI, born 8.28.12
Our surprise baby, Juliette, is due 12.8.14!

  • Believe me it happens. With my first (and I have clock work periods) my ultrasound measured me 3 weeks behind. LMP was Aug 31 and I did not get a October 3rd period. Tested 3 times over 3 weeks and finally got a positive. My due date which assuming would have been around June 5th was changed to June 26th. He was born on the 27th.

  • ditto what JennDave+1 said. For my current pregnancy, I had been having very regular periods. My LMP was November 19th. When I missed my period, I tested and it came out negative. I continued testing with negative results for 2 weeks. Finally I waited one more week and tested and it came out positive. At my ultrasound they confirmed the baby was due 3 weeks later than the EDD based solely on LMP, in other words, the baby was the size of a 6 week pregnancy, not a 9 week pregnancy. Sometimes, we randomly ovulate late.... I had ben pretty regular as well, so I don't know why, but it happens.
I am having trouble updating tickers--But I am due on April 2015. I have 2 older step children: 9 and 14 yrs and I also recently had 2 younger children: 2 years and 1 year... so this means I will be having 3 under 3--and trying to fit our family of 7 into our minivan--eek!
