STTN- so why am I worried?

Hi Moms,

I don't know if I should post there here or not but I trust your insights for obvious reasons. Little girl has slept 7 to 8 hours each the last two nights. She wakes up happy, eats a normal feed, and snoozes for another half hour to 45 minutes or so. She takes little naps here and there and usually two good naps of over an hour. She eats every 3 hours except for during the night stretch. From what I read, this is fine for a full term 3 month old but DS was 8 weels early...should I be worried because this is not ok for her adjusted age of 6 weeks?

  • I think it's ok, but I'd double check with your Ped. At 6 weeks adjusted we were given the ok to go on demand for feeds as long as DS got so many ounces in a day and gained weight

  • As long as she is gaining appropriately, I wouldn't worry.

They wanted us to wake my kids, I did not because they didn't eat well if I did, and they gained well so nobody was worried.

  • My DD is slightly younger than your gestationally, but one day apart actual!  She has slept for 6-8 hours/night quite a few times in the past 3 or 4 weeks, though a stretch of 4-5 hours is more common.  Our pedi told us not to wake DD up during the night to feed her since she has gained 0.5 lbs every week since she came home from the NICU at the end of November and she has had plenty of wet diapers - the pedi told us if DD stops gaining weight and/or her wet diapers decrease significantly then we should think about waking her up to eat at night, otherwise let her sleep away!
