DH and I are starting to plan our summer trip to visit the families, and are debating flying vs. driving (approx. 1600 miles). Honestly, we're worried about boarding the dog for several weeks (like we could afford it), and I'm not sure if it would be the right thing to fly with him. I think we could make the road trip fun - rent a mini-van, stop at some state parks, stay at hotels with pools, etc. What do you think? DD will be 20 months. We have an iPad to use for entertainment, too. What has been your experience with something like his?
