I was craving a margarita a couple days ago. I've also been craving white wine, when I'm normally a red wine drinker. I'm chalking it up to my fruit cravings.
My doctor said absolutely no alcohol. I don't think I would even really enjoy it, I'd be too busy thinking of what it could do to the baby-and if there was a problem I think I'd always wonder about it. I've heard a glass of wine here and there isn't bad, everyone just has to do their own research and decide for themselves.

Your doctor would probably rather just make a blanket statement than be vague about it and let people decide what "moderation" means to them.
I've really been wanting on too. I keep telling myself I need to remember to buy those mini bottles at the grocery store 'cause they have screw on caps. I have a running alcohol list of things I want for after I give birth LOL
I had a dream the other night about a GIANT margarita. It tasted sooooo good in the dream... I think that'll be the first naughty thing I drink after the baby is here... Only 5 months and some days to go! lol

Crystal light has a margarita flavor "mocktail" I bought it and had one in a salt rimmed glass the other day LOL. It was pretty good actually. Def. not the same as a real one, but an 'ok' substitute.

My local Mexican place will make any frozen margarita virgin. Like Crystal said, totally not the same but still really fun to have in a big cactus glass. lol.
I have visions of myself sipping on a martini in my hospital bed, post partum. Haha.

A margarita was the first (alcoholic) thing I had after I had DD! I had 2 sips and was WAAAAAAY tipsy. I had to trade DH for his Corona. My tolerance was shiit!
I found Beck's NA and it is a lifesaver...it has the same delicious, hoppy flavor that I love, and less than .5% alcohol....I think that is less than my mouthwash...granted, I am not drinking the mouthwash. I was crazy craving beer and figured I would try an NA because even though I know I could have half a beer and be OK, I would still feel guilty (and that is just my personal perspective -- I don't judge others for having one or a glass of wine.) After a long day, the NA Beck's really hits the spot. The O'Douls and Coors NA taste like crap, though.
I have also made mocktails with club soda and juice...
all in all, though, I am not missing booze too much. I kinda got used to it after the first mongh.

I almost never drink, but ever since I got pregnant (before I even knew about baby) I've been craving red, slightly sweet wine. There's a chilled red that they serve at Olive Garden that I love, but haven't given in because before I knew about LO I never had time to go, and now I keep forgetting to ask the OB if it's OK. I will put it at the top of the list to ask next time, because now this thread has my craving turbo-charged!
I say do it. A lot of people say that a small glass of red wine now and then is fine. I have a friend who is a NICU nurse and she drank a bottle of beer every couple of weeks for the second half of her pregnancy. I told her that for me, I'll just take the occsional wine.
Re: I just want one glass of red wine!
Obviously you have to do your own research and determine how you feel about this.
But if you need any company, I've been enjoying small glasses of wine maybe once a week since my 2nd tri started.

Dear wine,
One day, my love, we will be reunited. Until then I can't even have a taste because I will only want more of your deliciousness.
Love,
Peeper
