How will I make it from 8 to 12 weeks without an u/s???

The new OB/MW practice that I chose after MUCH deliberation doesn't plan to u/s me until 12 weeks if I elect to do the NT scan (which we plan to do so that we can see the baby again). They don't start with doppler checks until 12 weeks. How the hell am I going to survive that long? I am 8w1d today and just got released from my OB, baby is measuring perfectly on track and had a beautiful HB of 166 bpm. But still, I am still early. I have passed all of my loss milestones (none measured on track), so that is huge and I know its a milestone to not need to be monitored as closely, but still- how do you do it? Any tips out there?

I'm not the type to fake symptoms to get another u/s (i am too superstitious). I plan to ask the MW at my intake visit if they will allow an acception (I'll pay) at my 10 week visit, but I dont know if they will do it...

Edit: sorry, forgot to write the rest. I have a doppler and it really helps with my nerves. Just focusing on day to day is what will help.

I hope they're willing to work with you. The CNMs I'm seeing only do one u/s, at 20 weeks. Today is the first appt. they're willing to use the Doppler, too. Part of me appreciates their thinking that everything is okay... but a greater part of me just wants some comforting evidence! GL!

Buy a doppler! I had to wait from 8w1d until 13w3d for an u/s and the only way I kept from having a major freak out was buying my doppler. I was on the fence about it at first, but it's seriously the best money I have ever spent. I haven't had an u/s since 13w and I don't get another until 18w (next week). I use my doppler once or twice a week (more if I'm feeling insecure) and it's made all the difference for me.

I am kinda right there with you....I had an u/s at 7 weeks and we aren't doing the nt scan so I was going to ask tomorrow at my appt if there is any way I can have an u/s before my 20 wk u/s. I am hoping they say yes cause I don't know how I will make it either! I thought about getting a Doppler and will think more about it after my appt tomorrow. Good luck

Thanks ladies. Like many of you, I will also have to go from 12ish to 20 weeks without an ultrasound as well, but I'm not as worried about that wait since I will be able to hear a HB on a doppler between those ultrasounds. (My bff has a doppler for me to borrow, just as soon as she delivers her baby boy in 6 or 7 weeks). But between 8-12 weeks, I know its a bit iffy if you can even hear anything on a doppler, not to mention this still being the first trimester, so my fear is up. I think the 20 week ultrasound will be my last u/s too, but since I will be able to hear a HB on a doppler and feel movement I don't think it will be as challenging as the 8-12 week wait.

I'm just trying to keep in mind that its a good thing that they dont need to see me more often...

If it weren't for going to an MFM I'm not sure I would have gotten another u/s after 19 weeks. I hate it since I want to see my LO. I wish I had something magical to say about not getting one from 8-12 weeks, it's difficult. I'm not one to fake either, all I can say (easier said than done) keep the faith that your body is doing what needs to be done, that's how I made it through my most difficult days.
