My baby is 5 months and has been breastfed. I exclusively breastfeed him when I'm home from work which is 4 days a week. I work 12 hour shifts and pump twice while I'm there. I usually pump about 12-15 ounces while I'm at work but yesterday I only pumped 5. Today while feeding my baby it wasn't enough and I had to supplement with bottles. Does anyone know about having such a decrease? I'm upset because I wanted to continue breastfeeding.
Re: No more milk?!?!?
My advice is don't stress! (easier said than done) Continue your pumping at work, what is happening to you is normal. If you can add in 2-3 extra pumping sessions during the day either before during or after work, keep nursing baby on cue when you are together and pumping while at work. You may have to supplement with formula if you don't have enough stored while at work, ve sure to only offer the minimum amount nessecary, some mommas have great success 'power pumping' think happy thoughts about this it really helps not to stress!
