Anyone else have brutal lower back pain already??

I don't think my core is THAT week since I was an avid Pilates do-er before BFP and we sleep on a memory foam mattress (whole thing, not just topper), only one pillow, etc.  My lower back is excruciating some days (like today).  Maybe I'm sitting too much (at work then at night at home)?  I don't know...this is not good at only 7-8 weeks.  Anyone else dealing with this.

I am big busted and they are bursting already, maybe that's it?  :(

  • I have terrible pain on oand off in my tail bone! Sometimes it radiates down my leg. Very uncomfortable. Im trying to ignore it becuase it is only going to get worse.

  • I m also big busted, but did not have this problem last time. This time I wake up with it hurting at the top of my back and it works it's way down all day. By the end of the day I am praying for my heating pad. 

    I lay flat on a heating pad every night until I'm about to fall asleep, then I turn on my side and put a pillow between my legs. Hope you feel better!

  • So what's odd, is I am starting out weighing 20 pounds less this time than when I got pregnant with DS and I did not have this last time!  I thought for sure this would be "an easier pregnancy" since I was starting with a healthy BMI and having turned into a runner over the past 8 months.  Apparently not, mother nature you beeyatch!

  • Yes, I'm already having it too!  With my first pregnancy, it didn't start until 20 or 25 weeks along.  I'm doing what I did then -- sleeping with a pillow between my legs and another pillow pushed up against the small of my back.  For some reason, this helps a lot.  If it gets really bad, I remember I sometimes had to sleep on the couch with the back of the couch supporting my lower back.
  • Mine is only bad when I'm trying to go to sleep or it will wake me up in the middle of the night. It's a weird lower back cramping. Never thought it could be the boobs! I too already have some bigguns and they are just getting bigger by the day. Except in the past when my boobs cause back pain its usually more in my shoulders, etc. Who knows... but yeah, it's going to be a long pregnancy! Hah!
  • I have been having the back pain for a couple of weeks I'm 9 weeks and 4 days. When I had my first u/s yesterday, they told me that my uterus was tilted backwards a little and asked if I was having back pain? I told them yes! They said that once the baby gets bigger that it will pull back up and it will be ok. Maybe thats it? They said it was normal and not to worry but I would continue to have the back pain.
  • I have had back pain since I was pregnant with DS 2 years ago :(

  • No back pain here but I have excruciating hip joint pain already.   I didn't have any problems with pain during my first pregnancy but it's kicking my butt the second time around.   I have found the drinking more and more water does help.

  • I'm having lots of SI Joint pain, with radiation pain down my legs. I work in a hospital and the pain hit so strong one time I nearly fell! Can't believe it started already, it's my first and I had nothing to go on, but I surely felt this was supposed to be a symptom of later in pregnancy!
  • Yes--it varies from day to day, and it's not sciatica like others are describing. It's like a deep, very low in the back pain. I pulled something near those muscles a couple days ago and could barely walk until today. Oh, and it's definitely not caused by "chestiness" in my case. I'm just chalking it up to hormones and the weird things they can apparently do to your joints..

  • Yes, I am 11 weeks and been having back pain since my 6th week. I have a siatica nerve problem anyway and it is always acting up more so than ever. espeically if I sit too long..Just walk around every hour if you can to keep things loose. It should help.

  • I had back pain and similar things before pregnancy but it did get worse fairly quickly. (Only 12 weeks now)

    Some things I've found that work are ice packs for reducing inflammation (used to swear by heating pads but the chiro recommended ice packs and I think he was right), sleeping with a pillow between your knees (invested in a Snoogle at 6 weeks because sleeping was already miserable and I love it), pillows/back support at work (well really anywhere), sitting with your knees elevated (I stretch my legs out at home and put a pillow under my knees, for my temporary job I fashioned a foot stool), getting up to stretch/walk around, yoga poses, swimming, and as much as you probably don't want to, working out i.e. walking.

    I'm also going to a chiropractor and will transition into physical therapy soon.

    Good luck, if you can keep moving and keep the core strong (my weak point), it shouldn't hopefully get too too much worse.
