  I don't have a recommendation for a specific doula but I have been looking into them as well.  I heard of Heart and Hands doulas from a friend who is in doula training and they have a monthly "meet the doulas" get together the first thursday of every month.  The next one is this coming Thursday, January 5th from 7pm-8pm.  I plan to go to meet them and possibly get hooked up with one.  Here is their website...

  I used a great Doula from The Birthing Circle. I can't speak for them all but I was very pleased. I delivered @ Magee.

  thank you! I found a group called Blessed Arrivals also. I will be checking into heart and hand. their website was very informative.

  I used the Birth Doulas of Pittsburgh, via the recomendation of several friends.  I don't think you necessarily get to pick a specific doula, because they find you one who is available at the time you are due.  They meet with you before your due date, stay with you throughout the labor, take pictures and write you a birth story, and then do a post-natal visit.  We had a wonderful experience with them.  Also, if you are struggling financially, they are willing to work with you to find a lower fee.
