I'm looking in the Ocean County/Atlantic County/Burlington County areas for a doctor who will perform a VBAC...they are hard to come by! Does anyone have suggestions?
Also, I'd like to have a doula with me during the birth, so any recommendations on this would be helpful as well. Thanks!
Re: DR who will perform VBAC? Doula recommendations?
My ob is great. Dr Frank Sindoni with Atlantic Cape OB/GYN. He has offices in Galloway & in Somers Point in Atlantic County. Not sure where you live but he is head of obstetrics at Shore Memorial. He performed two c-sections on me and will do my third in October. I wanted a VBAC the second time around and he was willing to do it --hubby and i decided to go with the c-section in the last week because i was not dilating. the morning of my c-section i went into labor. i went ahead with the c-section anyway and good thing i did--my uterus ruptured right on the table! needless to say we aren't taking any chances with this one either--three babies in three years, my uterus is prolly not the strongest. I'm sure the dr would agree to perform a VBAC as long as you aren't at high risk for rupture....he's very open-minded and listens to what you want. My first baby I had wanted to deliver using hypnobirthing instead of meds (that's before we had to do a c-section) he was fine with anything. Also--if you decide to deliver at Shore Memorial I cannot say enough about the staff in the maternity ward--I've never had hospital experiences with such attention to my needs and wants.
My good friend is a doula in the area...email me and i'll send u her information.

Did you ever find anyone to perform a VBAC? I realize that you posted this years ago but I was shocked to learn that SOCH wouldn't do a VBAC! If you get this and you were successful I would really appreciate the info.
Thanks!
