Re: ~*~DE/DEmbryo/GC Check-in~*~
Hi all!!
It is exciting to see all the recent DE activity. Congrats to those with new little ones, positive betas and identifed donors/moving forward/upcoming appointments. Big hugs to those who need one!
My appointment on the 27th went very well. I am waiting for CD1 so I can call the clinic for baseline BW and ultrasound. I am hoping that should be in less than 2 weeks. I am very excited and even more hopeful since I found out we have a proven donor. I was told that a sucessful pregnancy came from the same batch of eggs we are using. I am scared to be getting so hopeful...H keeps trying to keep me grounded. Hopefully we will be bale to transfer end of Feb.
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles

SAIFW/PAIFW
Hi All! Hope everyone is doing well wherever they are in their DE journey!
QOTD: I had a known donor so there was no waiting to be matched.
Update: I'm just about 29 weeks now. I feel much better than I did the first 23-24 weeks of pregnancy.
Update: Despite my worries, we had a GREAT ultrasound this past Friday -- one little baby-shaped critter, measuring 9w6d (2 days ahead), wiggling and jumping, with a heartbeat of 163. It was super and I'm feeling much more positive.
QOTW: From my initial appointment with my clinic and then a "mock cycle" to qualify physically for our shared risk program to the day we picked our donor was about 5 weeks (but we picked her virtually the day we got a database password).
Hi ladies! So excited to see all the good news around here. Sending tons of positive vibes to those cycling / waiting on results or ultrasounds. Huge hugs to hose that need them.
QOTD: it was about 6 months between deciding on DE and actually cycling. We were pretty open in our donor search but ran into a few bumps (see bio for details).
Update: I can't believe that J is almost 18 months. He finally has a bunch of teeth coming in and his vocabulary is exploding! It is so much fun.
Update: My sister's transfer is Friday!!!! I'm excited, nervous and trying to keep the faith. I'm trying to stay positive but it's so difficult. I just want it to work so badly.
QOTW: I had a known donor so there was no waiting period.
Good luck everyone...
Continued hugs and best wishes to everyone going through the DE process!
Status Update: Where are you currently with the DE/DEmbryo/
GC process? CD1 was yesterday. Started BCP's and scheduled trial transfer and repeat TSH b/w for this coming Monday (2/6). Baseline b/w, u/s, Lupron instruction appt on 2/20 with f/u's on 3/1 and 3/16. Estimated ER for the donor around 3/20 with my ET aroudn 3/23.
Had a sonogram as a follow-up to my mammogram this morning, which showed my breasts are fibrocystic. Sonographer didn't think it would be a problem, but said dr may want me to have an MRI or a biopsy. Holding off ordering any other meds until I'm sure this or the TSH levels do not cancel this cycle!
QOTW: At your clinic or agency, how long did you/do you have to wait to select or be matched with a potential donor? DE was given to me as an option at my WTF appointment on 12/5. We made our final decision to use DE on 1/7 once AF showed and confirmed we did not have a Christmas miracle. Was told we couldn't look at potential donors until all our testing was complete. Got all our testing done (b/w for both, mammogram and repeat SHG for me) on 1/9, 1/10 and 1/12. Since I was there on 1/12 for the SHG and had taken a personal day from work, I asked if I could start looking at donor profiles (they don't have them online - only in folders that must stay in office), and they said yes. I looked at the 11 profiles they had and narrowed it to my top choice and a few runners-up that day. DH and I went back in on 1/16 to confirm my top choice. Donor was contacted and confirmed she was available on 1/17. From what I understand, two other clinics in my area have a 6 month waiting list and many I found online talked about a TWO YEAR waiting list. I feel VERY lucky that my clinic had no waiting and a donor who met all my most important criteria.
Sorry I have been MIA for a while. I have been crazy busy with my Shower and getting baby's nursery ready and now I have a cold and managing my GD. Boy, it's been crazy the last month or so. Sorry I haven't been around to offer support. I hit the 35/35 milestone yesterday and am very excited to get this show on the road and meet my lil man! Here's my latest bump shot:
QOTW: At your clinic or agency, how long did you/do you have to wait to select or be matched with a potential donor?
At my clinic the way they did it was in house donor pool. They had a 3 ring binder filled with potential donor candidates and the candidates were allowed to participate in 6 cycles max, but they are shared cycles, meaning that 2 couples hook up with 1 donor and split the eggs you get. That's how we did it. So you had to pick an available donor or go on the waiting list for a donor that was booked up in case of a cancellation and then if new donors were added to the program that might fit your profile better, the coordinator would call you and let you view their book again. We changed donors 3 times. It took from November of 10 till June of 11 to cycle but in the end we were very happy with our choice.

QOTW: We decided to go with DE before our WTF in Nov 10 so went to the appt with the plan to go forward with DE. We cycled in Jan 11 so the whole process took about 6 weeks - we used a frozen egg bank though so no waiting to cycle with the donor.
Update: The girls are getting bigger every day and almost rolling over!
