Great name, but if i am totally honest I do think it is sort of "geek" name.
I love it - but I love geeky names (Simon, Felix, Arthur). For boys I pretty much look for names where you can picture the kid getting beat up in the playground.
I will be out voted, but I hate it. If you want your son to be mocked endlessly and beaten up in the locker room, name him Oliver. Caden/Aiden/Brayden would be better than Oliver. Not all old fashioned names are necessarily good, and this is one trend that I do not understand. Sorry.
Always really liked it and last summer at the beach there was the cutest ~3yr old boy with big blond curls running around and his mom yelling "Hey Oli". Made me love the name even more!
As a theatre geek, I cannot just say the name Oliver. I sing it "Ollie-ver Ollie-ver (never before has a boy wanted more...)" See? Now the song is stuck in my head.
As a name, I'm not really fond of it. A co-worker's daughter married a French-Canadian man named Olivier, which I love.

I Love it! My great-grandpa was an Oliver but my grandpa always tells me how much he HATED his name and hated the NN Ollie so I'm not sure my family would want me to use it.

This! A girl from my high school who is like 20 now, just had a baby named Olivur NN Olie (with one L???). Gross.
I also know 2 dogs named Oliver. Ollie is really cute on a dog, but I can't imagine it on a little boy.
