Ok, so I'm probably just worried and hormonal. But here is what's going on, has anyone experienced something similar lately?
1. Just found out I'm anemic, which explains why I try to run up the stairs and end up walking. (Like one of those bad dreams where you are running away from a monster and it feels like your feet have cement tied to them and you are trudging through mud)
2. I have been waking up in pools of sweat. The parts of my body that are actually sweating, are my chest and legs.
3. I've been feeling dizzy, the back of my head and my shoulders have a burning and tingling sensation.
3. Last night I was projectile vomiting, then had diarrhea, then more vomiting. I've been drinking more water, so it shouldn't be because of dehydration. I don't think it was food poisoning, because I was with my SO all day and we ate the same things at each meal.
4. Cramping last night, before and after getting "sick", into this morning. Now, my belly is tender, and feeling heavier.
5.[ I asked my Dr. about this, and they said it could be the baby headbutting me.] About where my cervix should be, I feel what I would believe to be a contraction, regularly, and always in the same spot. When I asked around about what contractions feel like, the basic consensus was that the whole belly or back cramps up....so I could be wrong.
*****My gut says, something is not right, although my OB appt was 2 days ago and the baby is perfectly healthy. Is 31 weeks very uncommon to go into early labor? I've heard that for some women, vomiting and diarrhea occurred right before they went into labor. So....just hormones or something to keep an eye on?
Re: 31 weeks- braxton hicks and projectile?
If your gut says somthing isn't right, go get checked out. The Dr can't REALLY know what is going on based on a conversation over the phone. I would go get checked out.
It is of course possible to go into labor at 31 weeks, but it's more likely that the vomiting and diarrhea are a tummy bug. The BH's are probably from a combo of dehydration and your tummy cramping irritating your uterus.
I still think you should head into L&D though....
I'd go to L&D considering you are sick you are probably dehydrated and may need fluids. They may hook you up to an IV. I had an instance last week at 30w I went to L&D I had been sick all week and I was having Braxton Hicks, they hooked me up to fluid and just monitored me and the babies till the BH's were gone. Call your docs office then go in to triage. Better safe than sorry hun!!
PS regardless of how much fluid you may be drinking it doesn't matter if you are sick and vomiting it up. I drink about 80-100oz a day and apparently I was still dehydrated!
I had the same type of vomiting at week 31. I looked around online and found that a lot of women get a 24-36hr. flu during week 31. The only thing I would worry about with the vomiting is if you get a fever; if it gets really high I would go to the doc.
Regarding the pain you're feeling in your cervix, that sounds like "lightning crotch". If it's a sharp pain and it stops pretty quickly then I vote LC.
Contractions (for me at least) were very obvious when I started having them. I truly was one of those people who "knew" she was in labor. My contractions were a tightening and hardening of my belly, the whole area felt like a rock during a contraction.
I hope it's nothing and you're fine but if you are really concerned try to get in with your doctor today or if you don't think they are taking you seriously go to L&D.
As far as the fluids go... I had major loose stool issues last week. Kept going downhill all week. I know this can cause dehydration so I was chugging water.
Ended up in L&D anyway to get contractions stopped. Turns out I was over hydrating. My urine was water. Literally, I showed DH what I was calling my alien piss b/c I was so amazed at how clear it was.
Too much water can cause diarrhea!
Spoke to my ob, and they have me on modified bed rest. Basically, if I start getting dizzy, lay down. Otherwise, I can walk and drive, but no sex. Could have been a bug, could have been fluids, I've been drinking a lot of water all day. Saw my chiro, (didnt want to keep the appt but she insisted), who did a light adjustment on my neck to help with the burning sensation when I get dizzy.
So far so good! contractions stopped early afternoon, I think I'm alright.....thanks for the feedback ladies.
