Hi ladies! I got a positive pregnancy test on Friday from a natural cycle after failed IVF. We were actually waiting to start our FET cycle!
I went to my RE's office to get my blood drawn today, and it was 162! I have no idea if that is good, but she said that I was definitely pregnant and that felt great! The told me that my next step was to call my OBGYN.. So I did and they scheduled me for Feb. 9 for my ultrasound. I guess I thought I was going to be getting more bloodwork done between now and then, but neither doc seemed to suggest it. I want to see my betas double! Is this normal to only have one beta? I guess I'm just not sure if I should just wait until Feb. 9 or try to go in for another beta..
Thanks and congrats to all of you!!

congrats!
I got pg on a break cycle and got b/w done twice (to see the rise) and had 3 appts. and u/s with my RE. I had my 1st appt. with my OB today.
I hope you can get the answers you need.
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

162 is a good number if you just got your positive test on Friday. You can compare your beta to averages at www.betabase.info.
I only had one to confirm pregnancy and then my next didn't happen until my first u/s at 5w3d, but that was because I was going out of town on vacation the day after my first beta. Otherwise they would have had me come back in 48 hours for a second beta.
If your RE has already released you to the OB, it's rare for OB's to do betas and they often don't see you until you are 6-8 weeks to even confirm pregnancy. The waiting is excrutiating at the beginning. Hang in there, and congrats!
Sorry, forgot to answer your question....
I would think that since you are already established with the RE that they would see you and monitor you normally until you are ready to be released to your OB. Back in 2010 I had an unexpected spontaneous pregnancy and my RE did all my monitoring. I had a Beta done every other day until my first u/s, then I had a u/s once a week.

Congratulations!
I would think the RE would monitor you for the first few weeks and then release you to the OB. I had 2 u/s and 3 betas with my RE before graduating. Maybe they are considering this different since you got pregnant during a natural cycle. I would call back and speak to the RE's office if you're concerned. I think it would be nice to at least see the beta double. The OB most likely won't run betas for you - they'll just see you for your first u/s. Although they did get you in quite quickly. Good luck and welcome!
