EBF moms with a supply stash

Do you have BM stored in your freezer?  How old is your LO and how many ounces have you pumped and stored?

Re: EBF moms with a supply stash

  • sadly, only about 20 oz frozen. DS is 4 weeks old an i just started to pump after nursing and really am lucky to get an oz total, most of the time it is a 1/2 oz.

  • I have a lot.  DS is 14 weeks and I have about 750 oz.  DS STTN and I pump about 8 oz every morning from the side I don't feed on (he only eats on one side) and at work, I pump about 4 oz more than what he is eating from bottles.  Besides that, I only really pump to replace feedings.  I wouldn't say I have an oversupply issue, but I definitely have enough.  I really am trying to cut out that morning pump and I am able to on the weekends, but I can't go to work with one side incredibly engorged.

My ILs are nice enough to store about 500 oz. in their deep freezer for me since I probably won't be dipping into my stash until I am done BFing/pumping.

  • I have quite a bit now, but that's because I've been back at work full time for a month, and was part time for awhile before then. I didn't pump as much before when I was also doing all feedings for LO.

I am guessing I have about 40 4 oz bags. This keeps growing b/c LO eats less at daycare than he does with me, and I'm still pumping at the times he would normally eat while with me. I might slow down the pumping eventually, but I'm too scared to for now. I think I'll slow down once I have no more room for storage.

  • DD is 5 months.  I have about 450 oz in deep freeze.  I donated about 100 oz because it had dairy in it and DD can't have it, so I figured since I had so much I would give some away.
  • I probably have at least 40 bags...4oz each...some 6oz. I pump between feedings and sometimes if LO only eats one side so iI pump the other. I just finished pumping 6 oz now about 2 hours after his feeding. He eats every 3 hours. He takes 4 oz bottles when he takes a bottle.

  • I have about 800 oz in the deep freeze.  DD was a very low birthweight and I had to pump quite a bit after I nursed her to make sure I kept a full supply.  I'm not pumping anything extra now, but the first couple months gave me quite the stash.

  • My lo is 4 months old and I have a little over 100 ounces in our deep freezer. I've started trying to freeze more the last two weeks though.

  • DD is 4 months, and I have somewhere between 400-500 oz frozen.  I do make more than she eats (I pump 1 extra time every day), but I also have a couple of business trips coming up, and I expect her to consume at least 60 oz during each trip.

  • I usually only had 15 oz or less frozen. DS2 got a really bad cold/ear infection around 5-6 months, and I pumped bc he wasn't nursing very much, so that bumped up my stash quite a bit. Once he turned 9-10 months, I stopped pumping at all, bc I could go out longer without him needing to nurse.

  • My LO is 4 months old and I have about 400 oz in the freezer.  She wakes up to eat once overnight and when I get up (an hour or so before her) I am pretty engorged so I pump both sides and get about 9-11oz.  I generally put 4 oz aside to feed her with when she wakes up and freeze the rest.  I do try to rotate out my oldest milk so sometimes I will freeze it all and give her a bottle of frozen milk.  Some days if she sleeps another couple hours after I have pumped I will just nurse her when she wakes up instead of giving her a bottle and freeze it all.  The only other time I pump is if I am out and she gets a bottle, I will then pump when I get home to replace the feeding.
