And everything went perfectly.
The mark on Ella's heart is supposed to be there. Just the fact that it is so visible means its calcified and that can be a soft marker for downs. The tech was so amazing and went over every inch of Ella's little body. She took tons of pictures, some in 3D, and showed us the 4D for a few minutes which made me cry. She's such a little person in there!
Then the doctor came in and looked at my belly with the u/s machine too and he said that all looks great. If there were ANY other markers on her u/s then there would have been higher concern but the tech said everything looks perfect and all my bloodwork from the NT scan was normal.
So we don't even have to go back again! We are "graduated" from the specialist, as they say.
I am so relieved and just wanted to thank all you ladies for the emotional support last week. It was a pretty scary time for me, just being so in the dark about what was to come, but I'm so happy our little girl looks to be growing and on track to have no issues. Thanks again! I felt the love through the computer.

Thanks ladies.
So glad I can move on from that scare.
So glad that everything went so well at the appt. It sounds like things are going to be a whole lot better from here on out.
My midwife set the entire thing up. She said because there was a concern with the u/s that had to be signed off on as A-OK by the specialist OB. I had to go to a specialist office downtown beside one the big hospitals in Orlando. And for this instance, they didn't use the 3D u/s to confirm anything about her heart. They used the regular u/s like my office uses, just a bit higher quality. I think she showed me the 3D just to be nice.
If there were no issues with your a/s, I think you will probably have to pay the extra for a 3D u/s.
7 weeks?!? Oh no! Why are they making you wait so long? That really sucks for you. I'm sorry, but I do hope that you have the same results as I do.

There were issues with the a/s, the baby had above normal fluid on the kidneys and a spot on the heart. They told me that it is just a small marker but they wanted to do another u/s but not until I was 28 weeks. I freaked out but my husband is convinced if something was really wrong I would have had to go right away.
