poop in the tub

Last night H was giving J & L baths and I walked in the bathroom to lay out the towels only to see my little guy, Jack handing H a huge turd.  H said, "Ugh, thanks Jack?"  I really do not even think H knew it was in the tub until Jack handed it to him.  I cracked up and was grossed out at the same time.  This is now the third time Jack has pooped in the tub.  Max never once did.  Lila hasn't yet.  So, I am aware of how random this is but I am just curious...Do you have a notorious tub-pooper?  Also, how many times have you dealt with a code-brown?

Re: poop in the tub

  • I've heard of quite a few babies doing this.  We've had pee, but no poop in the tub yet (knock on wood).  I hope we bypass it complete, but it is probably just a matter of time.

  • Mine did a few times within the span of a couple weeks when they were over a year I think?  After that it didn't happen and hasn't happened again *crossing fingers*

  • I posted below that we had our first one last night. I saw her make the poo face, but was about two seconds to slow to do anything about it.

  • Yes, Reese likes to just let it rip in the tub. It happens about once every 2-3 weeks. Ryan went this week, but the poor guy was constipated and I think the warm water helped with his issues LOL.
  • p.s. IMO there is nothing worse than twins and turds LOL
  • DD does this once a week. It's a new thing. I don't know if she's just so relaxed in there or what, but it's the worst - the other poor baby is blossfully unaware and playfully splashing around in her poo, and then everybody has to get out and start all over. Gah! :)

  • lol YEP we have had our floaters.  I think it really depends on how soon after dinner we put them into the tub that causes this "phenomenon" lol.  One night about a month ago we had this happen (they BOTH did it!) so the next night I said "Mommy has a new rule guys, NO poop in the tub!"  as if they can control it. lol.

Yeah, they didn't poop in the tub.  My husband does bath duty, and when it's over he lets them walk with their towels wrapped around back to their room.  This particular night he didn't do a very good wrap job, and he was in the room with Nathan, while Nehemiah was still walking through the hallway. No big deal, except that Nehemiah threw of the towel and proceeded to poop on the floor/the gate. EW.

  • Someone said to get a fish net and scoop the poop out. I take the kids out of the tub and scrub it down with bleach. After several years I had thought we'd have been done with the code brown but my one 6 year old dropped a turn in the shower the other night. He has poo issues and the warm water must have helped him.

  • Maybe this is why twins are so close...they bathe in each other's poop.

My girls did it awhile back, and it just happened to be one of the few times my 4 year was in the tub with them. Her twin didn't mind, but let me tell you, my 4 year old did! Let's just say, there isn't anymore bathing with the babies for her!

And I get everyone out, scrub out the tub with Clorox, and as someone else said, start all over.
