I posted about this last week and asked if people were still interested in doing a regular check-in to share what you've been trying from all those pins on pinterest. The consensus was to do a bimonthly post (every other Tuesday).
So share with us what you've been up to. I don't want to leave anyone out, so go ahead and share even if something is not from pinterest and even if it's not a craft (maybe a recipe?). But if it is from pinterest, please share the link to the pin if you can.
Looking forward to seeing what you ladies have been making!
Re: Share your pinterest inspired crafts/recipes/activities
These are some of those crinkle squares for babies out of wipes containers (we talked about them on there a while ago, but I don't think I'd made them yet). The tutorial is here.
These aren't actually pinterest inspired. I had extra fabric from making DH and BIL a Giant's blanket for Christmas, so I made DS some fleece longies.
Also, I said a while back that I tried making the DIY dishwashing soap recipe. (From here). Now I can report back that it works pretty well. Not well enough that we can use it exclusively. After a few cycles of using the homemade soap, it's better if we use our regular stuff (the dishes, glasses in particular) start to get a bit cloudy looking after 3-4 cycles of using the homemade stuff.
Aand done!

I made this soup from a recipe I saw on Pinterest. The link to the pin is in my blog post found here: https://akathewife.com/2012/01/tortellini-and-sausage-soup/
I made this for my brother & his new wife (they got married in October) for a christmas gift. The idea and letters/numbers were found on pinterest, I put a tutorial in my blog here.
I made Taco Pizza from a recipe found on Pinterest, we all enjoyed it, it will be added into the regular rotation! I also made the crockpot Hawaiian chicken BBQ, but we didn't care for it at all

Awesome! I am so going to make the crinkle squares next. Think I'll use a bunch of leftover fabric and have some to give away in baby shower gifts. Great idea, thanks!
Here are Super Mario Bros. cupcakes we made for a friend's engagement party:
Inspired by the way cooler version in this blog entry: https://vintagerosa.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Love those Elmo cupcakes!! I'm going to have to keep that idea in my back pocket. And sour peaches are my favorites, so even better!

I blogged about this today. Put the white part of the green onion in water in a sunny place and it will continually grow. I use a ton of green onion so this is genius for me.
This is only 1 week worth of growth!
I have made several recipes from www.skinnytaste.com. I have made all the ones I have pinned under my food board. Blog and Pinterest in siggy!

We did the bear butts photo in our photo shoot this weekend!
We installed a stack-stone/glass tile back splash this weekend
Close up
And I made hooded towels for Avery. I used 2 wash clothes instead of a hand towel and purchased them on clearance at target. Less than $4 a towel.

I am in the process of re-purposing a credenza from a desk to an entertainment center/toy storage for the living room. Will finish and post pictures by the next check-in
Definitely need to make those taggie blankets!
Ahhh! Too cute!

Wow! So you just put the bottom part in water and it will automatically grow upwards? Totally doing this too.
So damn cute.
Awesome. We are going to renovate our kitchen soon and I love the look of your backsplash.
I made these cookies a while ago and they were pretty much the best things ever:

Also, I'm at the point that I need to make a S'mores board because so many of my food pins are s'more-based. It's ridiculous.
Thanks! We did it on the cheap too! FIL has a wet saw so we were able to borrow rather than rent. We got the stack-stone at Costco for $10/box and only used 4 boxes. We used 5 sheets of glass tile, which were $10/sheet, the thin-set was about $50 and the grout was $25. So less than $200. It is a really big space too!
Oh boy.. total AW here...
Sorry..
Learned how to make these flower clips/headbands/necklace from Pinterest.
These were keychains that I saw on Pinterest. However, when I bought the tags, I didn't realize how thin they were and they were bigger than the ones on Pinterest. Everyone wound up using them as tree ornaments instead of keychains.
These are random things I made. The book took me hours but well worth it. I also made the bracelet that I put inside the book as a gift.
I may have posted the wine glasses and tutu bag before. I couldn't remember so I just put them in here.
Nice! I didn't even know Costco sold the tiles. My FIL has a tile saw too and knows how to do it so when the time comes, we are totally asking him for help.
This is genius. Totally doing this!

I've made so many things off of Pinterest!
Here's a teapot (no real tutorial, just a picture) and added teacups for two friends who recently got engaged:

Lots of yummy recipes too, and a few other crafts, but these are the most recent...
Yep!

I mostly use Pinterest for recipes, but here's a spring/Easter ribbon wreath I made over the weekend:
What kind of paint pen did you use for the teacups? Did you seal afterwards? Super cute.
Agreed. This is super cute! Please share your secrets.

The paint pens were the worst part of it. You have to buy the ones that are good for porcelain -- the ones I bought were Pebeo Porcelaine paint markers. I got a dud for the black one the first time, but the second time we were good to go. It is a SUPER easy craft. Just do your artwork, let it sit for 24hrs, and then bake in the oven at 300 x 35mins.
LOVE the sock monkey addition. The 2nd photo needs a password but based on the inspiration link, I bet it's adorable!
I do this with my green onions but find I still have to replace them after a month or so. They stop growing very well, start to lose their color and just aren't as good
