Movin' on up!

Tomorrow Evie moves up to the 2 year old class room.  (She won't be two until March...)  Since today is her last day in the First Steps Classroom we got cupcakes for her to take in to share with all her friends.

All last night she kept pointing to the container of cupcakes and saying, "My Cupcakes!"  I kept telling her, "Yes, you are going to share them with your friends at school tomorrow."  I have a feeling that at 3 pm I am going to hear someone screaming, "Mine, Mine, MINE!" when they start handing them out.

  • Awe! I can't believe they are almost 2 (they referring to mine as well).  Time flies.  I was thinking the other day how sad i'd be if she was in an actual DC where they moved classsrooms.

SK...he's old enough to taste cupcakes :)

  • I know.  It caught me off guard when they said she was ready to move.  I thought she had to be 2 to move up, but she was ready and they had enough room in the ratios, so she went early.

What is crazy to me is that I remember crying when she had to stay back in the young infant room, because her preemie issues meant that she wouldn't be able to move up to the next room with the rest of her peers.  Evie stayed in the young infant room until she was 9 months od and most of the kids were moving up when they were 6 or 7 months.  What a difference a year makes, now she is ahead!

Her teacher said she did a great job sharing the cupcakes with her friends.  (Whew, I was worried.)  They sang "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow" to her on her last day.  I wish I could have been a fly on the wall.

The new teachers said that she did really well yesterday in the 2 year old room. It was a bit of a rough start.  She wanted to go into her old room.  She cried when DH was leaving and told him she didn't want to be a big girl.  He hung out a couple minutes and had one of the other teachers peek in the room and she was totally fine.  (Whew again!)
