baby jogger city select

we really want the double tandem stroller.  our twins are now 2 months old and we have the double snap n go.  should we spend the money for the car seat adapters at this point?  how long will we really use it with the carseats?

Re: baby jogger city select

  • Our boys were done with their infant seats at about 9 months.  They are really big kids, though.  I barely used my double snap 'n go, but I use my City Mini all the time.

  • If you already have the DSNG, I wouldn't spend the money for the car seat adapter bars now.

  • I use my city select with the car seats ALL the time but we are out a lot. It saves me so much time getting in and out of the car. It's also nice when one or both are sleeping. One of my twins is on the small side so she'll be in the infant seat until 1 year for sure. The other might be out a bit sooner.

If you're out a lot, they might be worth getting. But, if you're mostly just walking around your own neighborhood, the regular stroller seats would probably be fine.

  • We have the City Select and really love it, but it involves several steps to set it up, and break it down. Plus it is super heavy! I used my DSNG for as long as I possibly could, when I took them for errands. The basket underneath holds a ton, and the stroller is just so light, and easy. Personally, I wouldn't spend the money on the car seat adaptors. Enjoy the simplicity of the DSNG for as long as you can! I miss it!  The CS is an awesome stroller and I'm so happy I have it, but I recently purchased the Maclaren Twin Triumph as a secondary stroller to keep in my trunk for trips to the mall, and other errands.
  • I kept using the DSNG as long as I could (11mths-ish) and then my BJCS w/ the seats. I didn't buy the adaptors.
  • Dumb newbie question, but can you fit two car seats on one BJCS?  We went to BRU and started asking questions but no one there knew anything.  They said you can only fit one car seat on it.  If you can fit two, what need would you have for the DSNG?

Yes, you can fit two car seats on one CS, but you cannot on the City Mini, from what I understand.

The main page here shows all the different configurations, including with two infant seats: https://www.babyjogger.com/city_select_lp.aspx

  • We bought the BJCS when my girls were about a month old.  We used the infant seats until 7-8 months so I'd say yes buy the adapters!  It was well worth the extra $100 for both of them.  The BJCS is my only double stroller and I love it!

I had the DSNG for the first month but once I got the BJCS I never touched the DSNG again cause that thing steered like crap compared to the CS.  I also resold the DSNG for what I paid for it, so no money lost!

  • We registered for the DSNG for when they are in their infant seats-I wanted something light &Easy to use. It is cheaper than 2 car seat adaptors for the BJCS too. We also registeredFor the BJCS & plan to use that when they are big enough to be in it w/o infant car seats.
