I live in Chicago and want to wear DD but am struggling with figuring out a way to put her in the carrier without exposing her to the cold. I have a moby and an ergo with an infant insert. What is your routine for putting LO in the baby wearer without getting them outside for too long? I also have a 2 year old. I've tried putting him in his stroller, putting the carrier on and putting her in it, but he's outside for too long by the time I arrange the carrier and her and I hate to get her out of her warm seat out into the cold air. Help me with your routine please!
I only have one but I would suggest putting the Ergo on and putting the infant in while in the car. Then I would get the older chile settled in the stroller.
I saw these cute little fleeces on www.togetherbe.com when I was hunting down a mei-tai. They are called Peekarus and it slips right over you and the baby, with a little hole for the babys head. It would keep the baby warm and you could put your coat on right over it....
I usually put my moby on before I leave the house, put her in the carrier in the car, drape a heavy blanket over her, then head into the store as quickly possible
Pre-wrap the Moby and just pop baby in when you get where your going. I never used a bucket with DS and don't plan to with my next LO. A few seconds of cold won't make baby sick.
Also where in Chicago are you located? I run a local BWing group. See my siggy for our blog:)

This. I would put DD in the stretchy wrap or ring sling (and later woven wrap) while still in the car.
