Hello,
One of my DD's arches when I try to put her into the car seat, stroller seat, or booster seat for meals. I think sometimes it's probably difficult for her to transition from playing to getting in the seat to eat. I know that she is hungry. She will sometimes eat if I let her sit on my lap. Then her sister wants to sit on my lap also. In the car, I leave plenty of soft toys for DD's to play with but she doesn't want to be buckled in. I try to let her calm down first and try again and she arches and screams again.
Any suggestions for getting your LO's into their car seats, particularly? We are still rear facing. Maybe it would help if we forward faced so she could get in herself?
Re: Struggling to get them into seats, advice?
both my kids do this from time to time, and what really works is if I can get them excited to go to their seats on their own. So, I say "Who wants blueberries?" (they love blueberries) and they both come running and wait for me to put them in their seats, and then I have their berries on their tray waiting.
For their carseats, they try and stand up, and I countdown like its a ship and it works 70% of the time, since they think its a game.
But like the PP said, its a phase, and best to try and get them out of their tantrum mode as quick as possible.
OMG, this is my life too!
Tonight DS2 ate lasagna for dinner ON MY LAP.
