OMG! I am in love with my new video monitor. We switched Jacob to a big boy bed this weekend and I went out on Friday to get a video monitor thinking that we'd need to get a better look at what is going on inside his room and make sure that he's safe.
Well, this thing is AWESOME! I have always wondered how it was that he falls asleep since many times I leave him in his crib reading books or playing with his stuffed animals. When does he decide that's the end and conk out? Well, now I can see!
And the BEST part is the 2 way radio. A couple of times he's gotten out of his bed and I press a button and say, " Get back into bed, buddy." And he scurries back to his bed with no issue. This afternoon I put him down for a nap and he was fooling around in his bed reading books and playing. After about 20 minutes, I said, "Ok, honey. Its time to settle down." He immediately laid down and went to sleep. I think he's a bit freaked out about where my voice is coming from, but it works! ![]()

brand? A bestie loves the Summer Touch one, but I'm hoping to save a few bucks. Don't need two cameras, but LOVE the idea of the talk-back feature. lol.
I've always said if my video monitor died today, I'd be at Target buying a new one tonight ;-)
I love love love those things...
We don't have a video monitor in Nicholas' room. We took his and gave it to Ava. I'm going to look online to see if I can get an extra camera for Ava's and put it in his room so when we do switch him to a bed we can see what's going on.
Dang - I think I need to get me one of those. I just never saw the need for one, so we stuck with our plain old Graco one. Hmmm....I think I'll be sending the hubby out for one on his way home.
Do I need 2 for my twins?
This is the part where I chime in and say - mine did, and I did just that!
LOVE my video monitor and couldn't live without it. Will can be noisy and it is so helpful to sit in bed, click on the screen and see whether he really needs me to go in or if he's just rearranging his crib.
Me too! I wish they weren't so darn expensive!
Same here! My inlaws bought us one for Christmas when I was pregnant with DS and I sooooo wanted to take it back - the door to the kids' room is only a few feet from ours, so it seemed like SUCH a waste of money. But yep - I'm an addict. Being able to see if he's standing up or still laying down keeps us from going in unnecessarily.
As for your twins - we put ours in a bookshelf between the two cribs, on the opposite wall, and can see them both - don't even hVe to swivel unless we zoom!
Me too!
