Repost from 2nd Tri: Discharge (sorry for TMI)

So since getting pregnant I have had more discharge then normal but I've noticed lately that it went from more then normal to A LOT more then normal, to the point that its soaking my undies! I'm not sure if this is normal or not. The discharge is always clear to white in color, thin (not thick like you would have for a yeast infection), and does have a smell but I'm not sure if I would call it a bad smell, just different then my normal smell.

I never wore pads before because my OB told me they cause yeast infections, but I'm thinking about wearing them now because this is getting embarrassing! Does anyone else have this problem??

  • It's disgusting.  But it's normal.  Ick!

  • I've never head that pads caused yeast infections? Have you tried panty liners?  I've had to use that and i just change them regularly, and i used them with my last pregnancy and never had issues with yeast infection. Also previously, i've had issues with tampons, so i used pads a lot, and have never had a yeast infection from that.

Totally. I've been having the same issue since pretty early on in my pregnancy. Docs, books, friends, this board all say its normal. But of course if its a huge cause for concern, just mention it at your next appt. My concern, because I don't ever feel yeast infections, is that its a YI and not just bad discharge, so I generally just have my OB check just in case.

  • I just double checked with my doctor again today and it's totally normal. My description matched yours almost exactly. It will not be a pregnancy symptom I miss.
