D.C. Area Babies

thought we hit a milestone and then...

So, as I have posted before, we are PT DD#2 and it feels like we have turned a bit of a corner, which is exciting.  She still has accidents, but they seem to be fewer and further between. So, that's great.

I have also posted about the fact that she still nurses before going to bed and I have wondered if I need to work on weaning...mostly because I am kind of ready to move on...but I wasn't going to worry about it until we had the PT thing more under control.  Then on Friday night, she just didn't ask to nurse.  Then the same thing happened on Saturday night.  And it was funny, even though I was happy to not nurse, part of me got a little nostalgic. We are done with the kid making and I thought, wow, my "baby" is all "grown up"...she doesn't wear diapers and she doesn't nurse.

But my nostalgia was short-lived.  Tonight she asked for "mommy's milk"...and when I suggested that may there wasn't any more, she was more than a little upset, so I let her nurse.

Guess my baby isn't quite ready to grow up yet;)

Re: thought we hit a milestone and then...

  • Awww, I sympathize. Maybe she will start asking less often until it gradually fades away.

  • Milestones are always kind of bittersweet, aren't they? J was all excited to wear underwear yesterday and on the one hand I was all, yay potty training! And on the other hand, I totally teared up because my baby wasn't wearing a diaper! We can't win.
