It's Official.... I have finally started IUI #1 cycle

I feel like I have been waiting for this for so long. My RE gave me the go ahead yesterday morning to start with the 150 mg. Clomid!!  (I never thought I would be so excited to start taking it again) I was technically on CD 9, but according to my levels with blook work and ultrasound (due to PCOS), my RE said he was going to treat it as I was at CD 3. I thought I was going to have to wait another month to give it a try.

I am scheduled for the u/s next Thursday and if that goes well, they will give me the Ovidrel shot that day and the 1st IUI. I will go again the next day for the second IUI of the cycle.

Does anyone have experience with them treating you like you are on a different CD than you actually are or starting Clomid as late as day 9? Also, I thought most people get the Ovidrel shot and then go in at least 12 hrs. later. Has anyone else had the Ovidrel shot and immediately had IUI?  TIA

PCOS diagnosis February, 2011
Clomid - 50 mg + Met June & July 2011 - BFN
Clomid - 100 mg + Met September 2011 - BFN
Clomid - 150 mg + Met Oct & Nov 2011 - +OPK - BFN
HSG - clear S/A - normal
IUI #1 - Clomid 150 mg/Ovidrel/Met - February, 2012 - BFN
IUI #2 - Clomid 150 mg/Ovidrel/Met - March, 2012 - BFP!!!  EDD 11/29/12

Daughter born on 11/6/12

 

TTC #2 since 5/14

9/14 - D&C / Hysteroscopy

11/14 - Met / Clomid 100 mg - BFN

12/14 - Met / Clomid 100 mg / Ovidrel / Acupuncture - BFN

1/15 - Met / Clomid 100 mg / Ovidrel - IUI #1 - ???

    TTC since November 08 IUI #1-BFN March 1, 2012 Saving Break will try IUI #2 in August 1/2012-S/A wash-count low 3 million 12/30/11 Luminarium(seaweed) stuck in cervix was suppose to "naturally" open it. Surgery for retrival. 12/7/11 Met with Dr. Dougherty new RE-more testing 2/11 Decided to take a year off to save for a new RE 1/11 Cycle day 4 a/s 15mm cyst left Ovary 1 follicle left over no meds this month. 12/10 Cycle Clomid-O'd Progestrone Dostinex =BFN 11/10 HSG-ALL CLEAR & S/A-Adequate 10/10 Cycle- Progestrone and Clomid-O'd=bfn 11/09 lap-removed a lot of scar tissue/endo =not so much cramps during AF ;) 2006 Appendectomy-cyst burst on right ovary =scar tissue 2005 abnormal cells-biopsy and cells removed=scar tissue

    just started iui#1 as well!

    no experience with PCOS, but just wanted to say good luck!

    Hi, I just did a post but I just started my first IUI cycle too :) I'm not doing Clomid though, so I'm not sure about your questions. But I'll be interested to see what responses you get about the Ovidrel.

    I've never heard of starting Clomid that late.  You'll usually O 12-36 hours after trigger so doing a B2B IUI and triggering with the first one probably is still decent timing.

    First I want to wish you luck!

    Second I know most people take clomid cd 3-7 or 5-9. Ive never heard of starting after that and dont know how effective that would be. I have not done any research and im sure there are other ladies who can give you better advice.

    I never did an IUI but when i triggered for IVF I triggered 36 hours exactly before. Im not too sure if the first IUI should be that close to the trigger shot but am happy to hear you are getting a second IUI so that should definitely cover your bases.

    I just found out today that I'll be doing B2B IUI's too!  If your apptmt goes as planned on Thursday that is the same timing that I have (trigger tonight at 9:30, IUI 1 tomorrow, IUI 2 the next day).  I was a bit surprised myself, but I'm not an expert so hopefully it works!
