anyone else who CANNOT sleep?

I just can't sleep at night. Today, for example, I don't know how I will make it through the work day because I cannot keep my eyes open. Unfortunately, though, at night I just lay in bed ALL NIGHT LONG and cannot fall alseep. No matter what I do, everything keeps me up. I'm not physically uncomfortable, I just can't stop THINKING. I think about everything on earth and cannot turn my brain off.

What are you all doing to fall asleep?

  • I have no problem falling asleep but I cannot stay asleep.  I wake up because I can't get comfortable or I have really weird dreams that wake me up.  I probably get 3-4 hours of actual decent sleep in a night.  I'm usually really productive at night, last night I was washing and putting away clothes at 10 o'clock.

  • Me!  I'm not a good sleeper as it is, and it's just awful right now.  I cannot get comfortable and this baby is up kicking me half the night.  I toss and turn all night.  Poor DH has taken to sleeping on the couch most nights so he can get some sleep for work.  He didn't have to do that with DD until about 34 weeks.  I offered to do it but he won't let me.  And it seems like if I do get to sleep, DD wakes up and wants me - and since DH is downstairs I have to deal with her everytime she gets up.  I'm so glad I'm not working right now because there is a good chance I'd fall asleep in the middle of teaching.

  • I'm in the club, and it sucks. I've tried listening to the hypnobirthing tracks, but then my mind starts reeling about how I really shouldn't have slacked on signing up for a class, I'm such a procrastinating loser, and then I stress about everything else unfinished in my life. Man, I miss having a huge glass of wine to unwind after work.

  • I'm having a hard time sleeping too.  I usually get up and watch TV.  The sounds usually keeps me engaged enough that I get distracted from the those thoughts running through my head and I get a little sleep.  Also, trying not to try too hard helps out for some reason.

  • This happens at least a few times a week. And everyday I just wake up a lot during the night. I really don't do much for sleep. I just try as much as I can. I had taken Benadryl but that didn't keep me asleep so there was really no point.

  • Mine just started this weekend.  Saturday night my hips hurt soooo bad and my right arm kept going numb.  Then last night I was up literally every half hour to an hour and kept having crazy dreams.  I have tried body pillows, no pillows, right side, left side...I swear i've tried everything and nothing works!  :/  And then I have to be active at work and feel like i'm gonna pass out and I can't breathe along with feeling fatigued.  The next 3 months should be interesting!

  • The same is happening to me. I fall asleep but wake up pretty much every hour.  My hips hurt so bad from sleeping on them.  I kind of feel like I'm sleep walking all the time!

  • Grunt, moan, flip... grunt, moan, roll... get up and pee, drink some water, lather, rinse, repeat. Every night pretty much since I've started showing and it's getting worse!

This.  I seem to wake up between 4-5am lately, and just lay there.

  • Ugh yes. I'll fall asleep initially for about 2 hours then it's like I get a caffeine injection or something because I'm wide awake the rest of the night. By the time I start to doze off the alarms go off.

  • This has been happening to me since ~20 weeks. Sadly, it's only getting worse.

    Lol this!

  • Me me me!!

I lay in bed and watch the clock turn from 10pm to 11pm to midnight.  DH falls asleep in like 3 minutes, and I just lay there wishing I could sleep.

Lately Z has been waking up at 3 or 4am from teething pain so if I fall asleep at 1am, I am up again at 3am (to distribute tylenol and change a diaper) and usually can't fall asleep AGAIN!  I am so tired and I know it's only going to be worse when this inside baby becomes an outside baby.

This!  I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow...but I wake up in the middle of the night, and can't get back to sleep :(

  • This is me 100%. I used to wake up every night around 3 and be up for a few hours. I'd fall asleep about 30 minutes before my alarm went off. Now I wake up at midnight and I'm up 4 plus hours and sometimes am up for the day. It was awful. I've been taking Tylenol PM before bed but still wake up. Now, I take one at midnight when I wake up. I'm groggy as heck when my alarm goes off at 5 but at least I'm getting some sleep between 12 and 5.
