Trouble TTC

When is too early? Confusing google searches...

hi ladies, hope you all had a great weekend. i was thinking about the fact that we're 9dpiui today (so approx. 10dpo) and my docs office doesn't have me going in for beta until another week and a half (thurs 2/9). is it me or does that seem like a long time? technically it would be 20dpiui (21 dpo). I've read on some other sites that many women start testing as early as 10dpiui, so i'm just confused. i haven't POAS since i know it's too early, but when is the technical point of being able to go in for beta? I'm trying to be as patient as possible, but all you 2ww'rs know how difficult it is to stay sane. I'm feeling really good, not overthinking any symptoms and trying to stay realistic yet hopeful. any info on a beta would be appreciated (or taking a FRER). thanks!

PS. RE did not instruct me to take an HPT prior to beta....i'm just wondering if i should be calling and asking to go in at the end of this week or not, more like 15dpiui.....

  • I don't go in for a beta unless I get a +HPT.  My RE says to test at 14dpiui for an accurate result.

20dpiui does seem like a long time.

  • Yeah that doesnt sound right. My RE didn't do a beta for my iuis- only if the hpt was +, which it never was. I would test at 14dpiui. Gl and keep us posted!

  • I would POAS at 14dpiui, call if it's positive to move up the beta. They probably schedule them far out so people aren't coming in at 9/10dpo for bloodwork.

  • After my IUI, I am scheduled for a 14dpiui beta.  When I inquired about POAS, RE said because of the trigger I could get a false negative or false positive.  Guess what...I'm still going to POAS probably starting 10dpiui.

  • My RE doesn't have me go in for betas until +HPT. And I'm not supposed to start testing until 17DPIUI. Which is insane, IMO!

I test out my trigger shot, take a break, then start testing again around 11 or 12 DPO. My LP is usually 12 days long, so I figure this is okay...

  • The instruction sheet for my IUI and Ovidrel shot told me to take a HPT at 14dpIUI.  I don't think my office orders betas until you get a +HPT or if AF doesn't show within a reasonable time or seems lighter than normal.  At 14dpIUI, you should get a +HPT if you are PG and any trigger would be long gone.  HTH.  GL!
