Babyshower and BRU question

So, I know when people buy things off your registry, all the money spent goes towards the Babies R Us rewards dollars. However, my shower was on Saturday, and everything purchased did not qualify because you can not earn rewards till Feb 1st. I also know Babies R Us will except returns without a receipt as long as it is on your registry. My question is, would I be able to return my big ticket items to Babies R Us for the store credit, and then repurchase these items after Feb 1st in order to get more Rewards Dollars? TIA

I don't see why not-it would at least be worth trying. Before I attempted doing so I would call first just to make sure it's ok before having to load everything up and then being told no

I don't see why you couldn't. My only concern would be that something had been purchased on sale or with a coupon - you wouldn't get the full amount back in credit, so you'd end up paying more for the same item. Definitely check to see how much you'd get back and what the current price of each item is before you return it.

Both of our showers were this past week, so I can sympathize with not getting the rewards dollars. It seems so arbitrary that they pick one month out of the year where you don't earn dollars.

I was wondering why I only have $33 in rewards dollars even though every big ticket item like my mattress, stroller, etc. was purchased. That's such crap that BRU does this.

It's worth trying - all my big ticket items were purchased during their little holiday "blackout" period....I said "screw it!"

I would try calling in and telling them that's what I intended to do, then see if they wouldn't credit you anyway. That seems like a lot of work for some points!

I wasn't sure if store credit=BRU dollars. And it wouldn't be a huge hassle. i live down the street from BRU and only would return the really expensive gifts. Thanks guys!

Uh- I feel the same way. Mine was also this last weekend and we got everything on our list (and it was the only store we were registered at), and it was purchased all within these last 3 weeks or so. It really sucks. Let me know if you get any where with calling them, maybe I'll do the same too.

I wouldn't see why not. BUT like PP said, some of your guests may have used a coupon or something. I myself just got the circular this week with the new coupons, and am probably buying my friends shower gift using one of the 15% off coupons. So if she were to return it, she won't get the full credit amount.

I wouldnt unless you know how much someone purchased something for, because you may not get enough money to buy it back.
