J&J makes Aveeno products. Hope you kept your receipt! Lol.

And FWIW, CA Baby recently reformulated their products and I personally have chosen to stop buying them. There's lots of info if you google it, or go to CB's Facebook page. I've done some research and I believe I'll be switching to Earth Mama Angel Baby products.

I don't understand why people abandon entire brands because they recalled one product (not even ALL lotions -- just one lot [batch, if you will] of this lotion) as a precaution over a relatively minor issue.

And so what that J&J makes Aveeno? They are two different products with different ingedients.

I can't speak for everyone, but since your post seemed to be aimed at me, I'll certainly defend my reasoning for abandoning the brand, and why it matters to me that J&J also makes Aveeno.

Abandoning the brand: You have your stories mixed. J&J finally recalled its baby shampoo after it was revealed that it still contained extremely harmful chemicals, including the preservative quaternium-15, which contains formaldehyde and is a known carcinogen. J&J had had made new formulas of the shampoo for European distribution because Europe had more stringent standards, but continued to distribute this formula in the U.S. I personally wrote off the entire brand after this. Any company that knowingly sells BABY SHAMPOO containing carcinogens is a piece of shiit in my opinion and I will not support them in any way shape or form.

Regarding Aveeno: See above. Since they are made by J&J, I'll no longer buy Aveeno products. But I'll go even further to say that Aveeno is also a totally crappy brand of baby products if you're looking for less chemicals and more natural formulas. Not to mention the recent recall (which is what is mentioned above) of the lotion due to contamination with antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Quality control, much?

In the end, it's personal preference. But I do a lot of research on the safety of personal products (both my own and for DD) and anything made by J&J is total crap, IMO. They have no concern for the safety of their products and only care about their own bottom line, and that's horrible. I respect companies for their level of social responsibility, and J&J has none. HTH.
