1st Trimester

expecting #2!

hi and congrats to all the 1st tri ladies :) 

just wondering if anyone is starting out a little heavier than they had planned and what your plan is for eating healthy and keeping weight gain on track.  I gained a TON with #1 and really hope i can keep it within a healthy range this time!

  • I gained 33lbs with DD.  This time around, I'm actually a Zumba Fitness (r) instructor.  So, I will definitely be exercising more that I did last time (I ran a 5K in my first trimester and then nothing after that).  I think if you just exercise on a regular basis you should be fine. I'm hoping to only gain 20-25 this time with the regular exercise. Surprisingly, I'm almost exactly the same start weight as I was last time, so I'll really be able to see the difference!

  • I know you need to only consume 300 extra calories a day while you are pregnant and the fetus is growing..so you aren't 'eating for 2'. Keeping that in mind should help and exercise within your limits you should be fine.. of course a doctor should make sure you are ok to exercise

  • im trying to eat healthier this time because i still have baby fat from #2 and i dont want to gain alot but i have already gained about 5lbs in 7wks cuz i am always hungry! but i hope to gain less then 30
