June 2012 Moms

Now that we are all at about the halfway point...

Does anyone feel like the next 20 weeks or so are going to drag?? I feel like the 1st half of my pregnancy flew, and now that we have found out the sex and I have felt the first movements... I feel like the next 20 weeks are going to go soooo slow!!!  There are things I want to start getting together, but I feel like its to early for some of that.  I guess I am just so excited to meet my Baby Girl, June seems like a lifetime away!!  Anyone else feel the same way?

  • Now is the time to get stuff done. Let the time roll by, as long as I make good use of it, I'll be happy.

I'm the opposite of you, June is too close for me right now.

  • Yup!! The first 1/2 flew (I think Thanksgiving and winter holidays had something to do with it.) Now we get to deal with the cold, snow melting, colds, and waiting for it to get hot.

    No wonder it'll drag!

  • Ha! I agree that it FLEW by but I want the 2nd half to SLOW DOWN! I want to enjoy every minute with MH as it will be the last time its just the two of us. Plus, I have a ton of things to get done and don't want to feel rushed! It freaks me out that February starts this week....EEK.

  • I have a weird feeling this is going to continue to fly by.

As a teacher time tends to go uncontrollably fast and we have lots of family visiting before the birth so I think it will just seem slow but then be like... 'oh crap!  I am in labor!'

If any of that made sense...

  • I do! And I honestly can't decide if I want it to fly by or slow down! I'm an FTM and June-July is the absolutel busiest time at my job- we work about 70hrs a week for 7 weeks so I am feeling a ton of anticipation and anxiety that I will be leaving for maternity leave at some point during that. But I am SO SO excited about meeting our sweet girl!

Is it really February this week!? AHH!

  • I'm right there with you.  Plus, the first 4 weeks we didn't know we were pregnant (for most of us).  We will probably schedule a c-section for 39 weeks, but DD came 11 days before her due date, so I'm not sure whether we'll make it to 39 weeks.  I keep thinking how far away it is, but I'm afraid to put off decorating the nursery and getting things cleaned up and ready for this LO because I know June will be here before I know it (though in May I can bet money I will be more than ready for June to arrive).

  • Yeah, I'm feeling that way.  I know 3 or 4 people that have had babies in the last week or two - I'm so jealous!  I want to be having my baby.

We still have stuff to do, but I still hope the time goes quickly.

I'm an avid gardener, so I'm trying to spend my time like I always do - wishing away the winter so I can get back to my gardens.   Every year spring eventually comes, so hopefully it will this year too. ;)

  • I will need to start going through all the stuff from DS in our basement, but our house is small and I don't have the room to bring it up yet.  The baby will be in our room for awhile, so there is no nursery for us to get ready.  So I guess I am kind of at a stand still until we get a little closer!

  • See I think the first 20 weeks is boring. You are sick, you are tired, you are fat but no belly, and you aren't feeling your baby.

The next twenty weeks you have a cute belly so everyone knows you are pregnant, you can find out the sex, you feel lots of movement, and you are hopefully feeling pretty good.

I am glad to have those last 20 behind and look forward to the last 20!

  • I really think it'll fly. Next month might go slow but once March hits it'll be April, May & June before we know it!
  • I waver between feeling like they're going to take forever, and whoa June will be here in no time! So basically I'm either anxious/impatient or slightly scared most of the time.
