When they put plasma 50 inch t.v./huge expensive tool kits on their baby registy? I mean, do they really expect to recieve these kinds of items at a baby shower or what?  I'm hoping they just did it for the completion discount, but still...yes I'm kinda side-eyeing it.

    I would say that no they are not really expecting to receive those obvious non-baby gifts but are definitely doing it to get a little bit of a discount off of the price with a completion coupon.

    Those things are often the result of a bored husband wandering off with the scanner. A friend of mine put a radio controlled helicopter on his baby registry and wouldn't let his wife remove it. I took one look at the registry and laughed, because I could guess what had happened. I don't think they actually expect anyone to buy the crazy stuff and the expensive stuff.

    My brother in law put Reese's peanut butter cups and a garden hose on their registry. And somebody bought it for him! Lol. As a joke of course. You would have to know him to get his sense of humor

    This. My husband put a giant TV on ours as well as a dog bed (we don't have a dog, but he wanted to get one after DS was born) and some other weird stuff before I could get the scanner back from him haha

    A woman's life is nine parts mess to one part magic, you'll learn that soon enough...and the parts that look like magic turn out to be the messiest of all.

    Yeah, I think it's a joke... Sorta. 

    I mean heck yes I'll take a tv, but it's usually a joke from the husband.

    My brothers friend did an Xbox & mt dew. I bought the "real gift" then had a case if mt dew labeled for dad. His sisters bought him an Xbox. I think it's rare they actually get it... But whatever... If nothing else they can buy it themself after at a discount since it was in their registry

    Only tangentially related, but we put a can of beans or something on our wedding registry as a joke and all my mom's friends started calling her asking if the whole registry was a joke bc they saw the beans. I had to remove it. Some people really don't have a sense of humor...
    We love our little guys!
