PIP: my daughter broke her arm yesterday:(

The kids were playing outside riding their bikes and one of my 9 year olds fell off her bike and fell onto the curb. She didn't get up right away and I just knew something was wrong. Her arm didn't look bad, just had a slight bow in it. DH stayed home with the other girls and I went to the ER with Bailey. She fractured her radius and they did a splint on it. Poor baby girl. She was hurting so bad and I couldn't do anything to make the pain go away...I hate when they get hurt. This is the first bone break I've had to deal with.

Also, on a good note, I painted two owls for little Evelyn's nursery, I have one more to add to the collection. I think they turned out pretty well!

Sorry about your little girl!! I've never broken anything so I'm not sure what she's going through, but I wish her a speedy recovery!!

I've broken both my arms (not at the same time)... after the first day or so, it's not so bad... And I'm sure she'll love all the attention and help she'll get! I hope she feels better soon!

Broken bones are such a bummer...so scary for the moms too. When I was younger I was a gymnast so I had a few breaks, the first was the worst (I broke my let arm in 8 different places, with a number of chips).

The good news is that now, I don't remember being in pain, I just remember being spoiled afterward with treats and presents. Made the experience semi-positive in retrospect.

Poor girl! I hope she heals quickly. At least it is in the winter time when there isn't swimming and other fun things to be done.

Yikes! I broke my elbow when I was just about her age and had to have pins put in it. I cant imagine how scary that must have been to see your baby hurt!

My sister broke her femur when she was 5. She was in traction in the hospital for 6 weeks, then was put in a body cast from the waist down for 3 months. It was a bit of a long road for her, but she came out absolutely fine.

Sorry your little girl is going through it! I hear that lots of ice cream helps...gotta build that calcium back up! Wink

Aw poor thing! My brother was the one who was always getting hurt when we were young. I hope she feels better soon!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers of getting well. It does make her happy to get sympathy. I hope this is the only broken bone we will ever have to deal with!
