Obstetrician for cesarean in Manhattan

Can anyone who has had a cesarean (emergency or planned) recommend an obstetrician who deliveres at the Bath Israel or the St. Luke Roosevelt hospital?

My family is moving to Manhattan (hubby will be doing a medical fellowship at BI) in the spring and I'm expecting my second child in August.  My first, who is now two years old, was an emergency cesarean.

Although I hope to have a VBAC, I'll most likely have to have a c-section.

Any suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • Try Dr. L. Levitan/Dr. H. Worrell at 212.679-2223. Their office is located at 106 E 35th Street (betw. Park & Lexington Aves)

Many have complaint about wait time, but I never had any troubles in the past 12 years. I will be delivering in late Feb. and my hospital appointment is on the 15th, so I will let you know.

  • My OB was great. I had emergency C section at St.. Luke's. Both my dr. And the hospital have low c section rate but had to have one due to baby having cord around her neck, :(.  My Dr. Was wonderful.  Dr. Shawna Hedley. The ladies who answer the phone are sometimes rude but the 3 Drs at the practice are great, especially Hedley.  212-599-4400. Best to you, Jess
