Any ladies work in law enforcement, or a job with similar demands, and find that you can still pump regularly? I know that legally my work has to supply a place for me to pump and time to do it but I'm having a hard time visualizing being able to effectively do my job and be able find time to pump on a schedule. Most days I have a desk job and pumping is possible but some days I work patrol or in dispatch and just won't be able to depend on regular pump breaks.
Any advice or experience with this? Thanks!
Re: Pumping and law enforcement
Car patrol? I'd buy a pump that has a car plug. Foot patrol? Less sure...
I work in the ER and our schedule is unpredictable as well.
Sorry, no advice on the pumping, but I love your red shoes.
When I returned to work after DS, I was unable to pump. I know we are supposed to be able to have the breaks to pump, but with being on patrol, my schedule was just too hectic and unpredictable. Not to mention, I live in FL and it was freakin' hot. I was already having some issues with my milk supply right before I went back to work. After discussing it with the doctor and DH, we decided to stop breastfeeding. The fact that the bulletproof vest already pressed on the girls and was so dang hot, to think of the leaking factor too, was just something I wasn't looking forward to.
If you have a desk job, then it may be a little easier. But on the road patrol and in the vehicle, I just didn't see it really being possible without it also being messy.
Good luck!
