DS is 13 months and it's quite a process right now. If DH is home he will hold him at the sink while I wash DS hands. If it's just DS and I, I sort of prop him up on my knee while I hold him and wash his hands. Not fun. I tried standing him on a chair but it didn't seem safe or work too well. I've thought about looking for a taller stool that maybe he could stand on? I know there is a good solution I'm not thinking of.
Re: S/O Hand washing, how do you wash LOs hands?
If we are in the kitchen he stands on the chair and I help stable him. In the bathroom I hold him up and run his hands in the water and let him sit on the counter while we rub his hands together with soap. Does that make sense.
Once we are moved I'm buying a stool for the bathroom and kitchen sink I think
I let DS stand on a chair. I don't want a stool because I don't want him to be able to get up to the sink or counter without supervision. After he is done washing his hands (or just playing in the sink) I actually lay the chair on the ground by the table. He will push it around and try to climb on the table or counter otherwise.
Also, sometimes if I am in a hurry (since DS frequently just wants to play in the sink once we start washing hands and it takes ages) I just wipe his hands with a baby wipe or a wet soapy washcloth.
