Hey, I'm looking for an inexpensive doula or someone that has just finished training and needs experience. They don't necessarily need to be certified through DONA. The doulas I have checked out are way out of my price range
I know UCSD has a volunteer doula service for their patients, maybe they can help you in your search? I think the volunteer doula service is called hearts & hands(?) should be easy enough to look up.
Hope that helps a little, and you find a wonderful doula.
Thanks for the tip. I've already looked into them and they don't offer their services to women outside the hospital/birthing center. I'll be giving birth at Best Start. Thanks again.
I may know of someone in Oceanside - I'm not sure if her prices have changed or not. She was going to be our doula, but when your labor ends up being 3 hours there sometimes isn't time for those things. She was the doula for another couple in my Bradley class and the sister of a girl in the same class.
She often has new doulas that are willing to work for cheaper rates to get their experience up. Send her a message and I am sure she can point you in the right direction!

Good Luck!
Check out Betsy at https://justdoulait.com/. She taught our Bradley Method classes and was just fabulous!
