C-sections

Help! Advice on 2nd cs recovery time

I had an emergency c-section July 10, 2011 after over 24 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing.  This time, I will have a planned c-section to be scheduled July 5-12th 2012.  I was asked to be in a wedding for a very good friend of mine on July 20th.  Will I be able to walk down the aisle at this time?  Would be a week or two pp.  I do recall walking around the block 10 days pp last time and was okay.  Just want to know if I should pull out now or go for it.  Really want to celebrate with my friend (she was in my wedding as well).

  • I had a planned c/s on 10/23 and took DS trick-or-treating on 10/31.  So yes, I would think so.

  • Wow -- planned c-section recovery must be a lot different than an unplanned one.  I was able to walk a mile or so when I got home from the hospital but I don't think I could have been in a wedding 10 days out.

  • I'd schedule it closer to the 5th to give myself the most time but you'd probably be fine to walk down the aisle.

  • I would have been fine with that. I don't know about standing for the whole ceremony as my back was killing me for a few weeks.

  • I had an easy breezy planned csection and I couldn't walk through the grocery store till about 2.5-3 weeks.  I think I could have walked down the aisle at 2 weeks, but it would have been a very long, hard day, and I probably wouldn't have been able to do much else (introductions, go to the reception, etc).  Walking was by far the hardest part for me.
  • I would think you'd be fine be then...now if it's a long catholic ceremony, not sure about standing that while time.

I also want to say I'm Ali also. Had my csection with DD after 24 hrs of labor and 2 hrs pushing. And I will also be having my 2nd csection that week!

    Loving life's blessings!
