Work issues...help!

I need some advice... work has been insane lately and I have been forced to work from 9am-11 or 12 at night. It's an ad agency so I'm at my desk most of the day, but I am exhausted and can barely stay awake. It's causing a lot of stress and I am not far enough along to tell anyone at work. In fact, DH and I haven't told anyone yet (I am 7 weeks today). I don't want my coworkers to think I am a slacker, but I can't keep working like this. What would you do???

  • I would tell them that you are pregnant. If I was made to work that much right now I would lose it and I am a crazy worker. I was working 16 hour days before my BFP. But once the m/s and everything kicked in I cut back for my health and for the babies health.

  • I agree with PP. I would let them know that the work schedule isn't safe for you and the baby. You really need to rest so that you and your body can help prepare for baby and make sure that the little one gets here safely

  • I agree. Until I found out I was pregnant I was working 60 hr weeks. I just had to tell work I couldn't anymore. It stinks, but in the long run it is what is best for you and your baby. Plus, if you are so exhausted working that much, are you driving home that tired? I was and the thought scared me. An accident can happen so fast, and after a long work day....
  • Tell your boss so that they know whats going on.  I'm sure they will reduce your hours.  I know i wouldn't be able to last that long!

  • I also work at a media agency and I know how crazy things can be. I'd let them know you're pregnant, at least your manager, and see if maybe you can get remote access to your drives and work from home in the evening. Or maybe theyll let you ask for help from another team that isn't as busy (not sure how your company works) so you're not spread so thin? I've worked crazy hours but midnight is ridiculous. You'll also want to set a new president for when baby comes.
