Anyone have an IKEA children's bed?

Do you have to buy the bedding from IKEA in order for it to fit? Can I just buy regular twin mattress size bedding from somewhere else? I want to get beau a bed from IKEA but I don't care for their bedding. Thanks for your help.

  • We didn't buy her mattress from IKEA, but the frame is from IKEA.  As long as you buy a standard twin size mattress, you'll be fine with standard twin size bedding. :)

  • We have Ikea frames for the twins - can't remember the name, but it's the only that's only like $50 plus the slats.  Regular twin mattresses fit just fine in them.  They're working out perfectly for the twins' bedroom since they're not all bulky and they still share a room - and they didn't break the bank!
  • be careful which you choose if you want to use other stuff. their toddler beds are crib width but twin length, which is non-standard. FWIW, we love our Ikea bed!
