Jerks back when finished

When LO is done nursing, occasionally he will let go nicely but most of the time all of a sudden he will jerk his head back and about rip my nipple off if I don't have my hand there. Anyone else have this happen? Is it normal for them to do that?

This happens to me too. Im so use to it now, I became numb to it.

DD just started doing this a couple days ago. Either that, or she clamps down incredibly hard with her gums. Haven't figured out how to stop either of those things from happening yet.
