People suck! (not really 3TR) longish vent

First of all I haven't been around much because my BIL is in town and staying in our office/2nd bedroom where the computer is.  I've been lurking a lot and posting just a little, and should now me back to normal.

Yesterday DH and his brother went to the gym to play squash and someone stole DH's phone and wallet out of his locker Sad  Thankfully we appear to have cancelled all the credit cards before the guy could use them.  The only thing that appears to have happened is that he changed DH's password on his amazon account.  The phone is locked now.  But now we have to buy a new phone and replace all his stuff... our usual credit card and also our debit cards now don't work.  No one should have to deal with this sh*t, but especially not someone already dealing with IF... I'm going to be constantly worried that this guy is going to try some kind of identity theft.

DH at least is taking things more in stride and made a funny comment about how he could probably pick the guys genitalia out in a line up because he's probably showered with the guy (apparently the guys locker room doesn't have separate shower stalls like the women's does *shudder* I like my privacy and I'm a big fan of towels)

    man, that's awful!  a friend of mine was robbed by the guy they allowed to live in their house rent free.  they were worried about identity theft at first, but it turned out the guy was probably not smart enough to pull it off, after writing a $5000 check with the check book he stole.  check bounced and he got caught.  sounds like you got everything cut off fast enough to have some peace of mind though.

    Oh that is crap! I just don't understand how someone could steal somebody else's property with no care in the world. My car got broken into back when I was in high school and you just feel so violated.

    I'm sorry you are having to deal with that mess. Glad you got everything shut down before the jerk could do anything. I hate rudeass people!

    Oh my gosh! So sorry to hear about this, Greg! That is absolutely terrible. Isn't it awful that there are such disgusting people out there that can actually live with themselves in spite of stealing? Ugh.

    I lost my debit card and was without one for two weeks. It was ANNOYING and a huge inconvenience, I couldn't imagine losing my entire wallet.

    Ugh. Hopefully that man will experience Karma someday. Good luck getting everything back in order!

    I will never understand some people.  You make it in life by working hard for things, not by stealing them from others.  I'm sorry you and YH have to deal with this, especially right now.

    I would recommend putting a fraud alert on everything associated with his name/ss # in he event that whoever was rotten enough to take it decides to try and open new accounts with all your H's info.

    I'm so sorry to hear that YH's wallet and phone were stolen! Glad to hear that it looks like you've been able to cancel/lock everything before it's been used. If you haven't already done so, I would file a police report (just to have incase the thief does try to steal YH's identity). My mom's identity was stolen several years back, so if you would like some tips on how to deal with it, feel free to ask.

    As for the gym shower thing, at my old gym, the showers were separate stalls, but they didn't have doors/shower curtains, so everyone walking past your shower cubicle could see you.

    Dx PCOS (June 2006, re-confirmed March 2012), Anemia (May 2010-Still fighting to correct it), Fibromyalgia (May 2011)
    Initial b/w - normal
    HSG (March 2012) revealed right tube open and looking great. Left tube deformed with hydrosalpinx.
    Lap (April 2012) Removal of left fallopian tube. Right tube open and viable, but "rather enlarged." NO evidence of endometriosis...Uterus looks beautiful and "very capable" of carrying a pregnancy!
    October 2012 - Clomid 50mg + trigger + IUI = BFN
    With all factors taken into account, RE is recommending IVF. Planning on moving forward with treatment as a single woman using DS by Summer 2013.
