Hello
My daughter is 5 months old and we co sleep, mostly in her co sleeper (for which she is about to outgrow) and sometimes on the bed (usually after she wakes up in the middle of the night. We consistently put her to bed around 8-930...the days shes at the sitters she gets home and goes straight to bed at 930. She typically wakes up between 2am and 4am for a bottle and then is up for the day by 8-9am.
She has trouble going back to sleep in the middle of the night, I think partly because my hubby talks to her after her feed or shows her a baby einstein video on his phone, etc... which I have discussed with him is not ok (I leave for work at 430am so Im not there all the time). When I am with her she goes back to sleep fairly soon after getting a feed. She started napping 11a-130pm and sometimes again 5pm-7pm.
The other thing is our dog sleeps at our feet in the bed and him getting up and down seems to disturb her sometimes.
Im sad to put her in her crib but I think I might need to for her own sleep needs. I feel she may not be getting enough sleep even though shes not cranky or fussy during her awake times.
Any tips/suggestions on transistion into crib or how to help her sleep through the night. I really want to continue to co sleep....
Re: co sleeping and helping baby stay asleep
Many kids don't STTN at 5 months, and they still get plenty of sleep. Heck, only waking once is *fabulous*!
You are right to complain about screen time in the middle of the night (one of the worst things he can do for her sleep health!), and the talking, though.
Ditto. It sounds like you have an optimal sleeper! Not to be a downer, but expect baby to wake more as teething gets into full swing, social skills develop, etc. Night waking peaks at about 9 month.

Oh no, it gets worse? I mean I really am ok with her waking up once, I just hear things like oh they have to be able to sleep all night by 6 months old or they develop bad sleep habits...then the I feel like a bad mom thing kicks in!
She did just pop out a tooth so I guess shes doing ok relatively speaking!
Thanks ladies!
