Long story short: DD was born 12/31 at 9 lb 3 oz. She was down to 8.6 within 4 days, gained to 8.9 day 5, and then dropped down to 8.6 and stayed there. We have confirmed that she eats enough (1.5-2.5 oz/feeding, enf on demand 8-12 times/day), I'm on an MSPI diet, along with no sugars (fruit, or processed) or gluten. She gains when weighed before and after eating and just can't keep anything on. Finally, after exhausting every option our pedi has, we were admitted to the children's hospital for testing aqnd will be here at least through the weekend.
I also came down with mastitis Tuesday night (in the same breast as I have ductal yeast dxed last week) and after 2 fulls days of antibiotics, went back to my midwife this am because my breast had gotten worse and I could no longer nurse or get any milk while pumping. 2 hours after I noticed the issue with nursing I got to their office and my breast was bright red, 3 times normal size and I could no longer move my arm. After 5 hours of specialists and observation, I have been re-diagnosed with MRSA mastitis, and my ultrasound showed an excessive amount of cysts that are on the verge of becoming abcsesses. I have 24 hours to try new meds (they wanted to keep me and do IV, but we knew LO was going to the children's hospital today too so they let me go with her) to see if they work, and if I do not have a significant decrease in pain, swelling and redness by then, I have to go to the ER (which is at anotther hospital than LO), have our local breast specialists called in and have my cysts/abscess drained. If draining doesn't work or the fluid is back, I will have surgery this week to remove the abscess.
Needless to say, we are all super fried and could use any positive vibes anyone could spare.
