And I was doing so well....

I didn't plan on breastfeeding, but here I am just over a month out, and breastfeeding like a champ.  Until I changed my LO's diaper 10 minutes ago, now I'm feeling defeated.  Her poop was green.  I did some googling, and it seems as though I have an oversupply!  Has anyone dealt with an oversupply issue, and how do I correct it?

    I could be wrong on this (I haven't done any research), but from the pamphlets they sent me home from the hospital with, it can be several different colors and it's totally normal. DS has had light, dark, and bright orange and a couple of shades of green and he's always seemed healthy.

    BF babies poop can vary in colors. I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps happening. Are you feeding from both breasts during a feeding? Try feeding from one side to make sure baby is emptying the breast and getting plenty of hindmilk.

    I probably should have elaborated slightly :) She has been extremely fussy this last week, I even called the pedi, and they thought she had reflux and put her on meds. Meanwhile, I've been pumping an avg of 4 ounces per breast @ 3am. She also will freak out at the breast sometimes even "biting" and pulling at my nipple. (I don't care if she doesn't have teeth yet, it still hurts!). She will also think she needs to eat all day, but then behaves like that, so I will go through this ordeal of wanting to eat, but then turning red and frustrated while eating. The green poop was the proverbial icing on the cake. It's what made me hit the internet for answers.

    BF babies can get green poop if they aren't getting enough hind milk.  Try hand expressing or pumping some of the foremilk before giving baby the boob.  That's the best advice I've read so far.
