I don't have anything good for mands challenge post yet, so... Did you make a goal for when you were on mat leave? Did you accomplish it? It can be ANYTHING!
ETA: Edited to make it clearer what I was trying to ask: I think "goal" wasn't the right word, just meant what kind of things did you do while on mat leave.
Re: What did you accomplish when on mat leave? (My mands challenge post)
I totally had a baby and didn't jump off my roof.
That was honestly about it.
Pretty awesome!my bff and i used to do buffy marathons all the time. We moved and unpacked all our stuff while I was on maternity leave.
LOLOL! Since you shared this, I will confess I watched all like 6 seasons of Scrubs on DVD & then started on The Office DVDs while on mat leave. I would definitely say it wasn't an intended goal of mine, but since we had moved shortly before having DS & we went about 3 months w/ cable tv or internet, so I was pretty desperate.
The goal I set before DS was born was to be successful at BFing & I was, so at least there's that!
I watched the entire series (7 seasons) of gilmore girls. I sang the theme song to DS multiple times a day.
Sometimes I get bummed out that with LO #2 coming this summer that my mat leave won't just be lounging around the house cuddling a newborn all day. I'll be chasing around a toddler as well.
Hmm, my post is showing up blank. Anyway, here's what it was supposed to say!
<------ Silver!! Yay me!!
I started driving with LO and by myself a lot more. I was in a bad car accident when younger and have always been anxious about it. With LO here though I had to put on my big girl panties.
dammn, I was way too motivated during my maternity leave!!
My goal from when I left work until I had DS (about a week and a half) were to make a bunch of freezer meals, veg out, finish the nursery, etc. I made a few meals, slept a lot, was sick, drank water and peed. That's about it. Oh and itched all over my body.
I didn't have any "goals" for my actual leave though, except to raise a kid haha. I was off for 9 months (school teacher - went back in December). I did a lot...I showered and put on make up every day, took him to relatives houses, tried to stay busy (I hate NOT being busy), cleaned, cooked a LOT and worried about being bored.
I hope I can mellow out with the next one (oh wait, I'll have a toddler to run after haha)
My little man at 0-1-2
Hah, we actually have a video of DH speaking for B and he says something along the lines of "mom, you need to stop watching Dog the Bounty Hunter and Walker, Texas Ranger."
Those were totally some of my daytime go to shows and I had never seen either of them before.
BFP #2 5/27/12. EDD 2/1/13. m/c and D&C 6/21/12.
This is awesome! That was how I felt, too.
I actually somehow ) finished writing a conference paper for my job about two weeks after DS was born. I still can't figure out how I thought anything cogent on no sleep, and have trouble being as productive writing with LO in daycare! I think I was motivated by fear of losing professional self, adrenaline and help from parents & DH.
I watched David Tutera's My Fair Wedding... constantly. I was obsessed!
