Silly nicknames

Just something fun for a Friday afternoon...DH and I called LO ladybug throughout the whole pregnancy because we didn't want to reveal her name.  Now that she's here I call her "buggy" all the time!  Does anyone else use a silly nickname for their LO??

  • LO is really gassy so we call her fartopotomus.

  • DD refers to Carter as "monkey butt" (picture of why is currently the first post up on my blog if anyone is curious).

When DD was born, she was a scrawny little thing that couldn't/wouldn't suck. I fed her by expressing BM onto a spoon, and pouring it in her mouth. Her little neck stretching out with her mouth open to meet the spoon made her look like a baby bird. She has been "birdie" or "little bird" ever since.

  • we call DS Loaf. At his newborn photoshoot the photog did a pose with his legs and arms tucked under him and my best friend saw it and immediately said "BABY LOAF"...so we shortened it to Loaf  Smile

  • This might be a little weird...

My DH loves making me laugh, so after this video circulated (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r7wHMg5Yjg BEWARE it shows snakes etc. being eaten, can be a little gross) he called LO honey badger and it kind of stuck.

Whenever LO has a little screaming fit we just say "Honey badger don't give a crap" and it makes us laugh every time.

  • DS has been "Bug" since my coworker/friend found out I was pregnant. He is also "Turkey" since I had him 12 minutes after Thanksgiving.

  • My husband started calling DS Mr. Fussy when he had his first couple of crying fits when he was first born.  Since then it's been shortened to Fuss.  We keep saying we need to start calling him by his actual name soon or the poor kid is going to think his name is Fuss!

  • When DS is being all smiley and cute, we call him a "ham and cheese baby" ( being a ham/cheesy... Get it?!? )

  • DS1 started calling dd "little eh"  b/c he said "all she says is 'eh'"  So now we all often call her "little eh"!

  • I usually call her Sweetpea. DH will call her Monchichi or Little Miss Fussypants.

We both usually refer to her as "the bean" when talking about her.

Agree!  I have to actually think about calling DD by her real name so she gets used to hearing it!

  • When she was an inside baby, her nickname at my work was 'parasite' (I worked with animals, so it was just something we naturally would talk about anyway).

Outside baby nicknames are Tea-Rie (for Teagan Marie), Teags and the normals like Princess, Sweet Pea, Love Bug, etc.

  • Cuddle butt, fussy butt, little stinker. Typical stuff like cutie pie. Bumblebee.
  • When I was pregnant we referred to her as Baby G.

Now her nicknames include Little Mama and beans!  But I do like buggy...I might start that one today!

  • I usually refer to Jacob as Baby Boo.  We used to call him Squeakers or Lil' Squeak when he was tiny and squeaked all the time.  His other nickname is Jabob because of a typo my dad made on Facebook.

  • Squiggy is the one used most, which started once I was able to feel her moving while pregnant. She's also called Addybear, and my husband called her Beavis a bit during her super-screaming jags early on, but I have since nixed that one.
